Who is a ASHRAE Speaker?
A speaker is a person who the Program Chairs can contact to give a speech. (Each speaker has a unique ASHRAE Speaker ID number).
What is a Speech?
A speech is given by the speaker and will cover a specific subject. (Each speech has a Speech ID Number) A Speaker maintains their speech and their speaker data. Some speeches are “ASHRAE DL Speeches” given by ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturers under the formal DL program. These DL speeches are noted as DL speeches. DL speakers may also have speeches and these speeches are not part of the DL program. Speakers can come from anywhere in the world. Speakers define how far and under what conditions they will give a speech. Speaker contact data is required but available only to ASHRAE Program Chairs with the database password. Speakers should provide information that is only “public” domain. Speeches should be appropriate for ASHRAE Chapters. No commercials, etc. They can be on technical, refrigeration, HVAC, systems. etc. or items like legal issues, contact management, time management, etc.
Speakers can define criteria on how far they will travel with or without compensation, what languages and units will be used.
